Stop & Shop Expands Deployment of Modiv Media's
Modiv Shopper to 50 Additional Stores in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic
“Scan It!” saves customers money and improves shopping
experience by delivering coupons to shoppers in the aisle while
speeding up the check-out process

company, today announced that the Stop & Shop Supermarket Company
has completed the roll out of its Scan It! scan-and-bag system to 50
additional stores in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic, extending the
handheld self-service and media delivery solution to a total of 145
Stop & Shop and Giant Food stores.
Based on Modiv Media’s Modiv Shopper system, Stop &
Shop’s Scan It! enables shoppers to scan and bag their items while they
shop and delivers relevant coupons and promotions based on individual
shopping histories.

As shoppers enter the supermarket, they scan their
loyalty card and pick up a Scan It! handheld device, which features an
intuitive, color user interface. The scanner display presents exclusive
special offers and promotions to customers, based on their purchase
history, as well as their current shopping behavior. The system also
tracks the shopper's progress through the aisles and presents
money-saving coupons and promotions from brands as the shopper is near
those products. Customers select their items, scan them, and bag them
in the cart. Purchases are automatically totaled, and the customer can
pay for them quickly at one of the store's self-checkout stations.
